GREAT GRAND MASTER FRED VILLARI FOUNDED VILLARI’S MARTIAL ARTS OF SHAOLIN KEMPO KARATE IN THE YEAR 1968.
GGM Villlari realized ; because of his varied wealth of experience and dedication in seeking the ultimate fighting system, that each method offered something unique and each also had it’s glaring weeknesses that could make a fighter vulnerable. GGM Villari concluded that there were only four ways of fighting.
- With your hands ( punching, striking – open or closed hand) or use of any part of the arms, elbows, forearms, etc.
- Kicking (with foot, leg, knee, shin)
- Felling – that is to knock an opponent off his feet by throwing, tripping, pulling, pushing, shoving or scooping him.
- Grappling – by either wrestling, holding, breaking, locking bones or joints against nerve centers.

May 1st, 2018, Master James Schulenburg and Sensei Vicki Schulenburg passed the torch to Master Bradley McBee. The Schulenburg’s served the Reedsburg Community for over 23 years, creating Black Belts not only in the Martial Arts; but the community.
June 8th, 2020, Villar’s Self-Defense moves to Downtown Reedsburg at 244 E Main Street.
